On this dreary day, there was a sign of light as we walked through Harbor East and saw that a Free People sign was being installed on a storefront at the corner of Aliceanna and Exeter streets.

The boho-chic boutique—owned by Philadelphia-based Urban Outfitters—is just the latest example of Harbor East becoming the Georgetown-esque shopping mecca of Baltimore.

"We are very excited to be a part of the continued development of Harbor East," said Free People director of retail, Beth Wehagen, "It's one of the most exciting waterfront projects on the East Coast and we are thrilled to be a part of it."

Opening on April 3, Free People will be well-stocked for spring with sun dresses, cut-off shorts, and tees. The store will also sell the brand's Intimately Free People line of bras, slips, and loungewear. According to a press release, the interior will feature repurposed bead board, patchwork quilt curtains, and "glitter plaster throughout."

While this is Free People's fourth store in Maryland (with other locations in Towson, Annapolis, and Bethesda), it's the first in Baltimore.

The store will host an opening party on April 3 from 6-8 p.m. with refreshments, light bites, and free tote bags for the first 50 customers.
