It doesn’t get much more patriotic than sipping an ice-cold beer or bourbon cocktail while you wait for the fireworks to light up the night sky. Here are our top picks for the best drink specials and events this Independence Day.
Bars and Stripes: Kick off America’s birthday early this year at the Federal Hill Bars and Stripes pub crawl on Thursday, July 2. Enjoy the red, lite, and blue specials—$4 Redd’s Apple Ales, $3 Miller Lites, and $4 Blue Moons—as well as some patriotic giveaways and all-American food specials. Some participating bars include Mother’s, Banditos, Mad River, Ropewalk, and Pub Dog.
DogWatch Tavern: For a more casual Fourth of July, check out DogWatch Tavern in Fells Point. They’ll be serving up $2.50 Natty Boh drafts and $4 holiday shooters of Patron, Southern Comfort, and Tuaca. 709 S. Broadway, 410-276-6030
Howl at the Moon: Howl at the Moon is hosting its Red, White, and Brew Independence Day bash on Friday, July 3 and Saturday, July 4. Come celebrate with half-priced drinks all night and no cover charge. The featured drinks will be Bud Light, Jack Daniel’s and Jack Daniel’s Honey, and $20 86-oz. Top Gun Buckets filled with Long Island iced tea mix, Blue Curacao, sour mix, and sprite, (we recommend you share these with a friend). 22 Market Place, 410-783-5111
Red, White, & Brew: Stumble through Fells Point this holiday weekend with PubCrawls.com’s official July 4 pub crawl. Enjoy $3 domestic drafts, $4 domestic bottles, and $5 freedom cocktails. The first stop and registration bar is The Point in Fells, 1738 Thames St., 410-327-7264
Rusty Scupper: Rusty Scupper boasts some of the best views of the city’s fireworks from its third floor lounge and deck. Perhaps even more exciting is the all-you-can-eat buffet of jumbo crabs, hot dogs, hamburgers, and fried chicken. Rusty Scupper will also be serving $3 Heineken drafts and $5 Scupper Sunset 32-oz. buckets (Malibu coconut rum, Malibu passion fruit rum, peach schnapps, Triple Sec, orange juice, pineapple juice, and grenadine). 402 Key Highway, 410-234-1084
Wine Market Bistro: For a quieter evening, Wine Market will be serving a three-course prix fixe menu for $35. The fare includes Maryland crab soup, Borlotti bean empanadas, and a Mediterranean lamb burger. The meal is accompanied by a complementary adult watermelon-tequila sno-cone. 921 E. Fort Ave., 410-244-6166
Wit & Wisdom: Enjoy Wit & Wisdom’s waterside patio this holiday. For its Fourth of July party, the restaurant has partnered with Frederick-based Flying Dog Brewery. They will be serving Flying Dog’s signature beers, as well as Wit’s own signature cocktails. 200 International Dr., 410-576-5800
